    Stopped in for an update. Not much different. Good crowd. A couple of the dancers had very enjoyable acts. One dancer wore top hat and tails while using a cane to dance to "Putting On the Ritz". Absolutely more enjoyable that the standard two song set. The Wize Old Man wishes more dancers would put in the afford to do a professional act.

     The outside remodeling is finished. The workmanship and attention to detail is outstanding even if the building looks like a cartoon that should be at Disney World instead of the Piedmont of North Carolina. Guess the Wize Old Man is just a simple country boy at heart but he lost all desire to go inside upon seeing this monstrosity. In fact, he waited for another visit just so he wouldn't be in a down mood for the inside update.

   The bottom line is that they should have kept the price of a beer down instead of wasting the millions on the exterior. Yeah, and the waitresses are screwed as well since at $4.25 for a beer, most guys are going to round that so the waitress gets 75¢. At $4.75, she's going to get a lot more 25¢ tips. Blame management, not the customer!

    Can this really translate in a better club? What do you readers, dancers, and waitresses think?

    Dances are about the same. Mostly air. Table dances still $10.00 so while they spent millions on the outside, and raised the price of a beer, the dancers got nothing out of it and still have to hawk shirts like some medicine show. Who takes these home anyway?

   Speaking of dancers, they were more aggressive than pervious review and spent less time at the table. The Wize Old Man always gets at least two dancers just incase one is in a bad mood on a particular evening. At most clubs, the dancers will at least sit and wait for the next song to start but not here. Nor do they hang around much after the dance. Tried to start a conversation with one while she got dressed but; frankly, there wasn't much there. Neither asked for a second dance so they must be going alright.

   Summary of this visit? Well it's nice not to have to walk through the mud to get to the front door.

    The Wize Old Man has heard nothing but good comments about Christi's Cabaret. Lots of construction on the outside but inside everything is elegant.

     Rumor has it they have a buffet but the Wize Old Man has yet to see any evidence of one. Being told it provided by the rest room attendant kept him from missing it all that much.

     Chairs are better than most clubs. The couches are top grade. They have a Champagne room but you don't actually have to buy Champagne to use the room. Same price as a couch dance and, as one dancer put it, she'd be a lot more comfortable in the couch area.

    Lighting is a bid low for The Wize Old Man's poor eyes and a lot of the spots are poorly positioned. The distance from the spots to the stage and the height cause them the cross the stage and hit those seated in the first row of tables squarely in the eye.

    Enough about the facility. It's excellent. Let's talk about the dances.

    Dances are reasonable priced at $10.00 for a table dance and $25.00 for a couch dance. Even better they offer 2 for 1s at regular intervals. And, at least, when they have the 2 for 1's you can choice a beer mug, shot class, or cigar instead of the stupid t-shirt or visor most clubs offer. Even the shot class and beer mug have the Christie's logo so you still can't take them home. Go for the cigar. Even if you don't smoke you probably know someone who does.

   Dancers were polite, friendly, and not at all pushy. Some of the best in Greensboro. Mixture of  black and  white girls. Lot's of blonds. Most were wearing their own breasts and not the artificially inflated ones.

   This is a Gentlemen's club, not a Strip Club. No official dress code. The WOM say customers in shorts and t-shirts but they were the exception.

    The music was fine. Nothing special but not quite so loud you couldn't hear.

    One thing the Wize Old Man never likes is clubs that set the drink prices at "something" and 75 cents. A $3.75 beer means you've gonna pay $5.00 'cause they never offer change.

Pros:

     Plush decor. Beautiful women.

Cons:

     Where/when is the buffet?

    Still, Christie's rates 5 out of 5 as one of the best clubs in Greensboro.

     A lot of construction in the area makes Christie's a bit hard to find. Heading North-East on Wendover, it's on the left just pass the Volvo dealership. The club and bookstore are both open during construction.

   Just wanted to write you a note about all the feedback posted on your site. I just stopped cocktailing at "Christie's Cabaret" in Greensboro, NC and am browsing the area for another club to begin dancing for the first time. I do, however, if I may, have a few points to bring up on most of the feedback and reviews you get from others. Hopefully you won't mind. To begin, it seems as if most of the issues they have deal with money and attention span of the dancers, I may stand corrected. First of all, I tell everyone that claims any city is 'boring' that they must lack 1 of 2 things: friends, and money. More importantly-money. I couldn't imagine going to any club with less than $200 and expect a good time. Christie's was rather expensive, business was wayyyy down, I would walk w/ nothing some nights, but on average 50-100-nothing I can't make in a regular restraunt waiting tables. The dancers did very well, but thats aside the point. From an insider's view, sometimes its not how much you tip, but how you tip that keeps the service flowing. As for the waitresses, opening a tab vs paying cash will definitely get you better service since your card is run under her name. If paying cash, maybe give her 30 bucks and tell her to bring 2 beers back and keep the 20 as her tip for the night, and tip the $.75 cent dividend as you go along. A lot of girls do round that off and pocket it, I always carried a roll of quarters around, but by the time I tried to pull them out of my tray the customer had already thrown a few bucks at me and obviously didn't want 50 cents back. As for the dancers giving back change, I don't know if you do research on pay rates at the clubs beforehand, but sometimes they have to give the house 5 bucks on each dance or there's some rate to go along with it, and there are cameras in every club every 5 feet, so no one can get away with anything. So perhaps they assume that you were tipping, as they may be working for those extra few bucks. To get the most entertaining dancers to your table, perhaps instead of going to the stage to tip her $1, slip her a 5 and ask her if she would come dance at your table when she's done, or give a cocktail waitress a few ones and tell her to tip the dancer on stage and relay the message. Just a few suggestions that perhaps you could let your readers know about. I understand that its all about service on the club's end, and there should be no compromising, but the industry is cut throat and most of the girls do lack manners, so to ensure a better time, tip beforehand. Some of the reviews are shocking and I was really surprised to hear about such sour and money-hungry attitudes from the dancers. So if I may ask you a few questions on how to maximize my profit when I find the right place in the area to begin dancing. I would like to believe I present myself with common courtesy and proper mannerism towards any guest, so I do not believe that will be of any issue. However, any recommendations on anything else such as: song selection, apparel, performance, etc? It would be greatly appreciated if I could hear back from you, and hopefully you don't mind my forwardness. -- A Waitress

A lot of what this waitress writes applies to all clubs and the Wize Old Man would agree with most of it.

A couple of comments. NEVER use a credit card in a strip club. Never. While the WOM has not had any complaints about this club and believes it to be one of the finer clubs, padding of credit cards is all too prevalent. Even if you're is not, there's a good chance you will feel like it was when you get the bill and see how much you spent. Paying in cash has the added advantage of your wife or employer not seeing the bill.

The WOM has always gotten better service by tipping $5.00 for a single drink, or maybe $2.00 or $3.00 per drink on a party of 4 or more. Gentlemen, take care of your waitress.

Hello,

I used to come in all the time last year to see a deaf young lady that works there named Kendall. She was outgoing and was just fun to talk to. After she retired I didn't go for a very long time and I finally went back the other night and left extremely disappointed. When I used to come in there to see Kendall she was very classy and listened to what I had to say about things. The other dancers the other night just sat on their butts and ignored me. ... I will never go back to this place because it seems like there is no class anymore. I had been going for years and have spent a lot of money in this place but I am now going to be attending Chesters now since it's way classier than (the dancers) that they have at Christies. Not to mention the girls look run down and cracked out. Very disappointed! *****Dunlap

Don't be so quick to judge. After going there for years, they should have at least earned enough loyalty for you to give them more than one trip before writing them off. Who knows, maybe the DJ's Mom died that afternoon and everyone was really down. - WOM

Hello,

I am a huge fan of Christies and have been there a multiple of times. I noticed some of the girls are complaining because there have been people coming in to just tip and drink. One girl told me that someone had commented really bad about Christies. I just wanted to say that I have been a multiple of times and have ran into many types of girls. Some are really lazy but some are just fun to be around...I'm not a big fan of night time girls because they seem stuck up but day shift girls are really friendly and I just started going in more and more during day time...The girls that seem really awesome are Harley, Kendall and Crystal and they are just a pleasure to be around...it makes me want to come to Christies more often but my pocket will not allow me to do so! I highly recommend this place....great food..great  atmosphere..yes the drink prices are cheap but when you have an awesome girl on your arm...you don't even think about the prices..

I've been to Christies numerous times over the years but I find it getting worse and worse. Went in last night with my wife and as usual, all the girls spend the entire night sitting on their butts. Not once in several hours did any dancer ever approach us or talk to us. In fact, I saw very few table dances happening throughout the club as the girls stayed seated most of the night.

How bad is it when you pay $4.75 for beers, membership fees and then entrance fees on top of that, you can't even get a table dance because they are all sitting on their butts. This is a normal experience at this club and I have really not seen this at other clubs.

The previous time I was there, the bouncer and I talked for quite some time and he himself admitted that the girls don't dance much. I would tell everyone to avoid this club as it is boring as hell to sit there while your wallet gets drained from beer prices and your falling asleep because the dancers, don't dance!

Christie's has gotten better the past few years. There is a new couch dance area in the back. There is a good variety of dancers and management seems more creative with the theme nights. The waitresses are very good and buzz around like efficient bees. Christie' is safe and comfortable. High recommendation.

Nice to have a wize old man around. :) I'm a woman went to Christies this weekend with my husband to celebrate our 14th anniversary. We had a blast! Champagne dance is too expensive but we still enjoyed it. Second hour was too extreme. Think the dancer got tired :) Well some a** came in and left and busted the glass door in front. That was a shame. Security was very good. Had the time of my life. Hope to go back soon. Want to work there too! :) Dancers are beautiful! and very friendly!

Just wanted to say, I agree 100% about the beer prices! The waitresses are getting hosed by most customers (not by me; they actually make out better, since I give them $6.00). Did you see the price for a glass of wine?? Like $9.00, and I think it's like Glen Ellen or some cheap crappy wine.

We also think the music is way too too loud. Unfortunately, business has been really slow there lately. We went on July 5 and there were about 4 tables, and 4 or 5 girls working. Granted it was a Monday, but a dancer said it's not too unusual for a Monday. I go on Thursday often, and it's usually dead then too. I'm not sure how much longer they are going to be in business. It's just poorly managed and overpriced.

Thanks for the feedback. Summer months are generally slow and the July 4th weekend was probably not a great time to judge how a club is doing. On top of that, July 5th was a Monday and that's typically a slow day for strip clubs. Bottom line is that you shouldn't be concerned because one month is slow.
